I hope whoever was behind this starves to death himself. Who is he to play god.

And Zoe. Dogs are survivers. They can hunt for food to live. but not when theyr f**king tied up and have no where to go. This is completely cruel. Only an idiot would have thought up an answer so ignorant as that. You should be ashamed of yourself living with the fact you would turn a blind eye to something like this.

Dear Sir,
Greeting you in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. I am a victim and a born again Christian from Chittagong, Bangladesh. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and my Lord. Ministering among Muslim Evangelical Ministry in Chittagong. From the beginning of my conversion, I have been persecuted by the Community, relatives, friends and Individuals active Islamic groups those who are against me attacked me seriously, I was stoned, cut my left hand with a sharp blade, which signs are still alive in my body. Everyday I have to face many troubles due be a Christian by faith. Physically, mentally and financially I have already been harassed many times. My personal life seriously affected. I have my wife and my 9 months old baby boy are also born again Christian by faith. We all are baptized accordingly. All the way of our life we are in danger. Even if I die, no relatives will receive my death body even any Church because of fear. To live a normal life with respect its being very difficult. Active groups and individuals are always against me. Very recently I have almost completed a noble named THE FORBIDDEN SCRIPTURE taken from the Quraan, the 60% of Quraan are forbidden for Muslim, in my book I have tried my best to encourage Muslim to read Quraan in
their own language. Which may stand against Islam? I
am very much scared to publish my book here and also for persecution.
It is very difficult for us to live a Christian life with respect and faith.
I therefore requested you to rescue our life from disaster and troubles and to help us to relocate any where around the earth at least to survive. I therefore pray and hope you kind intervention to enable us to relocate soon for sake of our life. Thanking you. May God bless you. Please pray for us. In my home country I became a refugee. I therefore pray and hope to be delivered from disaster. Thanking you.Truly yours

I think the outrageous responses to this man's artwork is completely hypocritical, considering he pulled the dog off of the streets in that type of condition. He was not obliged to feed the dog, it was a stray among millions. If anything, he offered shelter to the animal, and kept it from making a nuisance of itself, raiding trash cans and such. If people were so gun-ho about rescuing a starved dog, wouldn't you think they'd be down there offering homes to the hundreds of strays out there? Out of sight, out of mind, I guess... It's easy to get flustered and upset and blame others, when your own guilt is staring you in the face.

Corey Glass is a BUM and lier.

I served during the first gulf war and there where bums like Glass and Key that said they only joined the military for what they though was free college money. They never dreamed they would have to do their actual MOS in a combat area.

Glass is a real class act with his statement that he believed the National Guard was a humanitarian organization. The National Guard and Reserves were deployed during Vietnam and to an extent WWII. The big mistake he made was joining the military when he should have stayed at home flipping burgers. He’s one of the ones that should not have made it through boot camp without being weeded out and sent home.

As long as he was able to show up for his monthly training and go home at night to his own bed, while getting college money he was all for the National Guard. But once he was called on to fulfill his obligation he wanted none of that. Don’t kid yourself he would have tired quickly even providing humanitarian aid in New Orleans during Katrina. But in that cause it would have been some other injustice that made him flee.

If Canada lets them stay fine, but don’t ever let the bums back across the border. He’s blowing smoke up peoples asses and ttheir believing his crap.

Your comments, as always, are welcome, and I thank you.

Brenda: I agree, sort of. The broader picture I see are equally important rights relating to due process, rule of law, and so on, constitutionally enshrined, and in fact far older than the Charter of Rights being continually eroded. Conservatives who used to decry such assaults on civil liberties are now oddly silent.

I think it is possible to be of conservative bent and be profoundly concerned about civil liberties and human rights, for everyone --- indeed it should be a natural. I don't see alot of evidence of this in the conservative press.

Agnostic: I am not sure if your fears are actually founded in fact. Media organizations "with shallow pockets" (as you put it) --- I'm thinking of local radio stations, newspapers etc are as about as likely to touch really controversial issues as the Toronto Star is likely to publish a paeon to S. Harper. (Not to say it doesn't happen...) I think the danger of the editor of say, The Peterborough Examiner, spiking a story because of some vague fear of incurring the wrath of the OHRC is more apparent than real. Partly because of the fuss already incurred over the Maclean's case (the issue has been tested and rejected), partly because the focus of local media are on issues of local interest, but mostly because in most localities, there is no "independent" media in any real sense: editorial content (and comment) is fixed by corporate headquarters, who are advertiser-wary and consequently adverse to real controversy.

Re Guantanamo: I think the argument of apologists for this detention centre (and others like it) is that it operates under law duly scrutinized and passed by the US Congress and signed by the American president, therefore it does not operate outside the rule of law. This strikes me as legal sophistry of the worst kind, for it covers with a lawful figleaf what are clearly violations of US and international norms of justice.

I think it is telling only this month the first of the prisoners is actually coming to trial. And even John McCain has called for the prison's closure.

Thanks again for your comments.

Tulse: Good point. I don't know. But I think the ruling also depended in part on how CH's rules were applied in general to all staff, i.e. a lesbian woman was singled out, but adulterers were given a pass. Incidentally it seems odd to me to have a short laundry list of sins, when some of the more obvious sins were left out.

Richard: I'm a taxpayer as well and belong to one of the "historic peace churches" --- the Quakers. We believe that war is absolutely evil and unScriptural. It is a dissenting view from the majority of Canadian society. Yet a large chuck of the taxes I pay goes to support a war I cannot support for religious reasons. I don't think I should be paying those taxes. Does that mean the government is discriminating against me for religious reasons?

Goldnsilver, lyrica: I don't want to get into an argument about the scriptural interpretation. I will say that Christians are not united on the question of gays and lesbians, your opinion being one of many. And also, I thought God punished Sodom for inhospitality.:)

"Ah, gay Christians… such a funny thing. They must not read their bibles very well. Most notably the story of SODOM and Gamorah where God destroyed those two cities for idolatrous acts and unnatural relations with members of the same sex. Hence the word Sodomy is derived from this story. So in conclusion how can you be Christian and think it is okay to be homosexual or lesbian? THINK ABOUT IT."

Sodom was destroyed because of humans trying to gang rape someone, not because the rape was between men.

Though I do agree in large part with your post mackthek, I do wonder why the girl chose to work in that place. She was really playing with matches, there are far more jobs out there. Its sad that she can't work where she wants based off her preference though.
